# Anatomy and highlight-region attribution

All anatomy model assets and derived metadata in this directory remain under [Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/). Retain this attribution with redistributed assets; modified anatomy assets remain under that license.

Earlier adaptation grouped anatomical structures by hemisphere, centered/scaled the model, recolored it, and reduced polygon density for browser rendering. Version 4 preserves all 40 version 3 base meshes, material definitions, geometry buffers, and anatomical metadata unchanged. It appends six separate highlight overlays, extracted from existing source atlas segments and aligned using the same transformation. They are hidden by metadata and fully transparent by default. No anatomical boundary was fabricated.

Highlight scope: the orbitofrontal overlays contain only the source “Orbital gyri” meshes. The anterior cingulate overlays contain only “Cingulate gyrus and sulcus (Middle anterior part)”. The insula overlays use the source's composite “Insula (Subcentral gyrus and ant. and post. sulci)” meshes. These source regions do not purport to define complete functional or cytoarchitectonic areas. Exact source IDs, names, positions, and triangle counts are in `highlight-manifest.json`.

Coordinates remain positive X anatomical left, positive Y superior, positive Z anterior. Model is centered, approximately four scene units across its largest dimension. Registered deep structures remain approximate educational atlas anatomy, with upstream registration error described as approximately 7 mm; this is not patient-specific imaging.
